These sites are excavations on the floor that kept a constant, cold temperature, which stored the snow and ice during the winter, allowing to maintain them cold during the hot months. Around this utility a trade that was wide spread during the XVI and XVIII centuries was developed around Spain and in particular in Bajo Aragón. This activity persisted well into the XIX century, and it is no wonder that our elders can tell us how life was like round the cold and the cold domes, or either because they were told by their parents.
