The environmental Route of the Estanca De Alcañiz and Saladas De Alcañiz, in the Lower Aragon region reveals a natural space where two very different ecosystems lie side by side. The first of these is the Estanca de Alcañiz, a small lake with waters that are kept at the same level by means of different works of hydraulic engineering. The second is an interesting ecosystem comprising an endorheic zone with several small and shallow intermittent salt lakes that are subject to a high rate of evaporation. The site is classified as a Site of Community Interest (SCI).
